There’s something brewing in SF — a new breed of young entrepreneurs, a new sense of how to work collectively, a new way of valuing quality of life over financial gain. I got really excited by this article and the fact that 20-somethings are manifesting an entirely different way of life from past generations. And Lyft was mentioned as part of that innovation. Ultimately it’s about creating a community around any project or endeavor, generating new ideas and inspiration from group energy. Even though it’s fueled by the idealism of the 60’s, there’s a modern edge of financial savvy as well as the 21st century ability to adapt lightning-quick to technological innovation (can you believe iphones have only been around for 5 years????). I think it was Nietzsche who said that every generation has the luxury of thinking it’s the last. But perhaps every generation should also get the gift of believing it’s the first.
